Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

A Dog's Plea

Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world’s sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

Please take me inside when it is cold and wet, for I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to bitter elements. I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.

Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.

And, my friend, when I am very old, and I no longer enjoy good health, hearing and sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I am not having any fun. Please see that my trusting life is taken gently. I shall leave this earth knowing with the last breath I draw that my fate was always safest in your hands.

Look Close. Funny Observation

From this year's Toy Fair in New York City a picture from the NYPOST .
Introducing the "CHANGE Yes We Can Count" Piggy Bank. Look close, I noticed the coin slot has no opening! Sound about right?

Even HIGH SCHOOL kids get it...sort of. LOL

EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE Tim Hacker A Dobson High School Advanced Placement government class with strong opinions about Barack Obama watched the president's speech Wednesday on a small, grainy TV in the corner of their classroom. Some of the students attentively watched the speech, giving questioning looks and comments, shaking their heads and laughing at some of Obama's words. Other students listened, occasion ally glancing up to watch, while texting on their cell phones, reading a book or finishing school work. The gymnasium's events were shown simultaneously in rooms throughout the Mesa school, and teachers were given discretion on whether to show the speech, the students said. The students in the class were hopeful things will work out but questioned whether Obama's plan would actually work to dig the country out of its economic woes. They also expected a longer speech. Senior Syna Daudfar took some notes during the speech and was among the most vocally opposed to Obama's words. At one point, when he talked about the costs of his stimulus plan, senior Maaike Albach and Daudfar looked at each other and said, "uh-oh." "Overall I think it's a good idea, but he's not addressing the issues of the economic crisis," said Daudfar, a John McCain supporter who added he leans more toward being a moderate conservative. "The spending bill he just passed is just progressing the Democratic agenda rather than addressing the economic issues in the country." Daudfar thinks Obama's plan is backward and deals with the "less important stuff" first. "Bailing out businesses" and "providing better regulatory systems for giving out money to businesses" should have been first, he said. "If businesses can't afford to hire people, then people won't be able to work and pay off their mortgages," he said. "It's kind of like putting money into20a funnel." Albach, who is also a Republican, said Obama's plan sounds good but questioned how Obama can want to rely on "people's responsibility" when that is "what got us in this economic crisis in the first place." "This puts us more into debt," said Albach, 18. "It's a horrible situation we're in." Senior Brandon Miller wore a shirt with the words, "Hitler gave great speeches, too" above a picture of Obama. Miller said he had been an Obama supporter "because of his speeches," but after debating the issues in this class and looking more into Obama's policies, his vote was swayed toward McCain. He showed a video on his camera he had just taken of the president's minutelong motorcade and talked about what a "great experience" it was to watch it. Miller had also spent a couple of hours in front of the school, hanging out and watching the protesters. "Even though I don't support him, I think it's cool he's here," said Miller, 18. "I just don't believe all the things he's telling us. His goal is just too big and broad." Miller wanted to hear more about the costs and guidelines the stimulus bill entails. Senior Katelyn Meyer, who also leans more toward being a Republican, said Obama's plan sounds good, "but it's easier said than done." "I like the refinancing part, and I like the part about mortgages, but I'm afraid we're going to put the money in but won't s ee any effect," said Meyer, 18, who still thought it was "cool" to say the president was at her school, even though she didn't get to see him live. The students also questioned why Obama chose their school for his speech since he wasn't talking about education and wondered how much money the district spent on beautifying the campus while district positions and services are being cut. District officials noted this week that the landscaping project completed over the weekend at Dobson was already in the works and was just expedited by the president's visit. Funding came from voter-approved bonds. New sod was laid in front of the school Tuesday, and Daudfar said, "The joke at the school is they're going to take it away when he (Obama) leaves." AP government teacher Jeff Sherrer said his students "feel very strongly about the issues, maybe more than the general population." He thought at least one of his students was outside protesting, and he had planned to take his students outside as a class project to show them what was going on but didn't get the chance. "These kinds of kids really get into it," Sherrer said. "During the election we had lots of debates on the issues."

Obama Warned!

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article5733499.ece Read the article online or here is the copy below: RONALD REAGAN started it, Bill Clinton finished it and last week Barack Obama was accused of engineering its destruction. One of the few undisputed triumphs of American government of the past 20 years – the sweeping welfare reform programme that sent millions of dole claimants back to work – has been plunged into jeopardy by billions of dollars in state handouts included in the president’s controversial economic stimulus package.

As Obama celebrated Valentine’s Day yesterday with a return to his Chicago home for a private weekend with family and friends, his success in piloting a $785 billion (£546 billion) stimulus package through Congress was being overshadowed by warnings that an unprecedented increase in welfare spending would undermine two decades of bipartisan attempts to reduce dependency on government handouts.

Robert Rector, a prominent welfare researcher who was one of the architects of Clinton's 1996 reform bill, warned last week that Obama’s stimulus plan was a “welfare spendathon” that would amount to the largest one-year increase in government handouts in American history.

Douglas Besharov, author of a big study on welfare reform, said the stimulus bill passed by Congress and the Senate in separate votes on Friday would “unravel” most of the 1996 reforms that led to a 65% reduction in welfare caseloads and prompted the British and several other governments to consider similar measures.

Though some researchers have questioned the true impact of Clinton’s “workfare” reforms, they were wildly popular with millions of US taxpayers tired of subsidising what many saw as a generation of slackers.

Despite dire warnings that reduced benefits for single mothers and deadlines on entitlement would create a social calamity – one liberal senator warned at the time that children would be “sleeping on grates” – the 1996 reforms cut welfare rolls from more than 5m families in 1995 to below 2m a decade later without a discernible increase in hardship.

In the American political lexicon, welfare has since become a dirty word – often referred to as the W word – and nothing arouses US tabloid ire more than the hint that taxpayers’ money is being wasted.

When it emerged that Nadya Suleman, the mother of octuplets born in Los Angeles last month, was a “single mom” with six children already and was relying on welfare assistance, she was transformed overnight from fertility goddess to the target of death threats.

Obama argued last week that his bill was essential for reviving the US economy and protecting victims of the credit crunch. Yet his Republican rivals have seized on the billions lavished on new welfare spending to stir the conservative faithful from their postelection misery and reunite the opposition.

“If you like government dependence, you will love the plan they are jamming through Congress,” declared Michael Steele, the new chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Rector, a senior scholar at the conservative Heritage Foundation, argued that Obama’s spending proposals in effect encouraged individual states to add more families to their welfare rolls; the more Americans sign on to the dole, the more state budgets will benefit from US Treasury payouts.

“They have completely overturned the fiscal and policy foundations of welfare reform,” Rector complained.

Supporters of the bill argue that the current crisis is so grave that intellectual quibbling about the nature of welfare has to take second place to the upheaval transforming millions of American lives.

“How can you tell someone who has lost his income to look for another job if there aren't any more jobs?” asked one Obama backer.

While some scholars are beginning to suspect that Clinton’s welfare reforms were fatally flawed – or at least viable only during an economic boom – Republicans are not alone in fearing that Obama’s hastily concocted package is the first step towards the creation of a quasi-socialist welfare state.

Even Mickey Kaus, a prominent liberal blogger, has denounced what he describes as the “get more people on welfare” provisions of Obama’s bill. Writing at Slate, the political website, Kaus said: “Lack of jobs isn’t a reason to loosen work requirements . . . Have the Dems never heard of ‘workfare’?

“Give recipients useful community service work, and if they do the work, then they get the [welfare] cash.”

Returning to Chicago for the first time since his inauguration last month, there were other pressing matters on Obama’s mind – not to mention the minds of millions of Americans still enthralled by his every move. Where would he take his wife Michelle for a romantic Valentine’s dinner? How much time would he spend in the gym? Would he fit in a game of basketball?

Opinion polls last week showed that for all his administration’s errors in his first three weeks in office, the new president has lost little of his personal appeal. He continues to enjoy an average 64% approval rating.

Yet after another fracas over the withdrawal of the Republican senator Judd Gregg as Obama’s choice for commerce secretary – the second time a nominee has given up the post – Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, was obliged to insist that it was not “amateur hour” at the White House.

Obama also stumbled over a curious claim that his stimulus plan would enable Caterpillar, one of America’s leading manufacturers of heavy earth-moving equipment, to start rehiring workers. He was promptly contradicted by the company’s chief executive, who said he had no such intention and was planning more lay-offs.

The dangers are beginning to pile up for the novice president and his struggling economic crew. Tim Geithner, his treasury secretary, tripped up with opaque attempts to explain how the administration would fix the banking crisis, while from every corner of the country there were alarming indications that increased government intervention in the lives of ordinary Americans could prove an invitation to waste.

In Wisconsin, the state that forged a pioneering path in welfare reforms in the 1990s, residents were astonished by a newspaper investigation that disclosed that a $340m (£236m) programme offering taxpayer-financed child care to low-income working parents was riddled with fraud and expensive loopholes.

In one case, a family of four sisters who had 17 children between them put all of them together, took it in turns to babysit them and over the past three years claimed $540,000 (£374,000) in perfectly legal state childcare subsidies.

Examples like that fuel American suspicion that so-called “big government” invariably turns out to be inefficient, expensive and easily exploitable. And there has been no bigger government action in the US than the stimulus package presented by Obama.

Few dispute the need for some kind of stimulus, but has Obama got the details right? The Republicans do not think so and, led by Gregg, they are already shunning the president’s bipartisan overtures.

Perhaps more worrying for the president is that some of his natural liberal supporters are not feeling all that confident either. In a telling commentary last week, Paul Krugman, the 2008 Nobel prize-winning economist, declared that Obama’s stimulus victory “feels more than a bit like defeat”.

Krugman added: “I’ve got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach – a feeling that America just isn’t rising to the greatest economic challenge in 70 years.”

Proof of Global Warming.

I didn't sign up for this...

Posted at Whitehouse.gov…. By executive order, president Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in migration assistance to the Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza.

The "presidential determination" which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4.

Yes, avowed suicide bombers being paid to come to the USA.

Here are Barack Obama's most recent actions.

1. His first call to any head of state as president was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

2. His first one on one interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.

3. He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.

4. He ordered all overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

5. He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and 9/11.

6. And now we learn that he is allowing Palestinian refuges to move to and live in the US at American taxpayer expense.

See the money....read about it. WOW, we are in trouble

Right from the Washington Post. Click the image to see it full size...notice, that Obama calls his 'AID" to the poor as payout even though they are technically WELFARE. Its wellfare giving tax credit in the form of $100 million dollars to PEOPLE WHO DONT EVEN PAY TAXES!! ITS DOCUMENTED THAT THEY DON'T...BUT NO, GIVE EM MONEY YOU TOOL!!! Help the poor non-paying illegals, minorities, and downtrodden with MY MONEY!! No thanks you Socialist!

Happy Valentines Day...Greeting Card Companies

Not in my house! LOL

See How your Democrats Work!!!

This is what bi-partisan means when you shut them out of closed doors. Everyone in the Senate and in Congress are CROOKS!!! This cannot be tolerated.

MY Stimulus Plan

Congress approve the 1 Trillion so I am using that as my basis: 300 Million Americans in this country currently. Including every last man woman and child. Pay each and every American $200 thousand dollars. That comes to $600 billion dollars. It LEAVES the congress $400 BILLION dollars to spend on their pork.

Stipulations written into the payout to americans since even the poorest of the poor with a family of 4 would receive $800K!!!

Stipulations:

for the wealthy first: 1. If you earn a combined income of $250K or more, you must either invest 50% into IRAs, the markets, stocks or in business investment. second $100K must be used to payoff personal debt, i.e credit cards, home loan, equity lines, etc. 2. Children of wealthy families under the age of 18: Their respective $200K each must be invested in their higher education through savings accounts, CDs, college funds, or the like. At 18, if they do not go to college, those funds are released to them for their own investments, startup business capital or home buying. 3. Children of wealthy families earning more than $250K that are OVER 18 but still reside with parents, must follow the same investment rules.

for middle class: 1. $200K to each member of the family. $200K for parents can be used at their discretion as long as they prove they earn less than the wealthy teir. Tax benefits for investing the money in the markets, IRAs, paying off home loans and the like. 2. Children under 18 of middle class: their $200K must also be setup for higher education. College funds, savings, etc. Tax incentives attached to those investments to urge their followthrough.

The Poor: 1. All funds used as needed with the understanding that they cannot ride a debt balance. Funds remaining after buying a house/apt, paying off loans, credit cards, utilities, etc must be paid immediately. Once in the black, they can learn how to invest, save and continue cash flow. Tax benefits for using the money for higher education, seeking emplyment, home loan payoffs, or new home purchases. 2. Children of poor under 18: Their $200K must also be saved, earmarked, invested for schooling. $200K could provide education for every kid right through their college.

So...this leaves Uncle Sam with nearly $400Billion in spending as they wish....the federal welfare programs, the commissions, the building renovations etc. Heck, this amount of money doesn't even include the $780 Billion from the TARP fund. The financial sector got their handout and still have the second half waiting.

I know there could be many more stringent guidlines as to what to do with the money given out, but this little ditty puts a sobering spin on how much money Obama is going to spend on "programs" that don't stimulate a thing. wouldn't it be nice to open up the mail and see a check for $800K for you, your wife and two kids. BUT KNOW THIS....OF EVERY DOLLAR OBAMA HAS PROPOSED TO SPEND, ONLY 12 CENTS GOES TO STIMULATING THE ECONOMY AND KICKS IN GROWTH. 88 CENTS OF EVERY DOLLAR GOES TO GOVT PROGRAMS, GOVT RENOVATION AND WELFARE! 12 CENTS IS FOR AMERICA....88 CENTS IS FOR BIG GOVERNMENT!!

I would wager a bottom dollar that 95% of all americans receiving this kind of "stimulus" would invest, pay off ALL debt, get their kids college paid for TODAY, buy new cars, and start new business....I know I would. I would invest my kids portions wisely, turning each of their $200K into $400K within the next 15 years....so doable if you do some homework. My house would be clear and free...so I would definitely entertain buying a second home for future retirement, vacation or whatever. My credit cards would be at zero. Banks would have all that credit back, interest rates wouls stabilize with the influx of home loans being paid off, and housing would boom.

I would get rid of my old car, and buy two new ones for the family...with better emmissions and mpg. I would upgrade and improve my home, thus improving the quality of my neighborhood, increasing home values.

When my kids are of age, the NEW influx of money for college payments, tuition, housings would kick in and restimulate AGAIN in 15 years, all the while, that money helping the economy while it earned interest and sat in these financial institutions.

If my kids end up not going to college, they now have funds to buy a home, a car, invest on their own in the markets, start a busines or whatever...but it goes back into the american economy...that is if capitalism prevails and socialism dies like we hope.

Anyhow, I know there are lots of pitfalls and caveats to just giving out money, but I think every American would love a crack at thier own destiny rather than trusting Uncle Sam to spend their tax dollars....remember $1400 toilet seats and hammers from the pre-Reagan years? You really think that Obama's financiers are going to save you money on the things they build, the welfare programs they offer or the contractors they hire to build THEIR government buildings that take years and years to finish over the private sector contractors....I think not.

Sure it may be a sillly stimulus plan, but it puts a great perspective on just how much they want to spend on their watch. I truly don't believe the slated and signed off plan of giving america an additional $13 dollars a week in their paychecks will do diddly squat!!! and that's only for the poor worker...I am considered wealthy (not by a long shot technically) and I will be paying out for those workers extra $13/week....my pay will not increase...and neither will yours if you are middle class.

Think about it....just simple math. Of course I jest...I don't think we should be paid....this country was founded on the back of hard working americans. But, when you do some silly math with the amount of money Obama and his tools want to spend (yes spend its not stimulus) it really is an eye opener in dollar amounts.

TGIF

It's Friday and we learned today yet another Obama pick has some tax skeletons in the closet. Secretary of Labor nominee's husband has had tax liens on his business since 1993....one would think she might ask if his business was in order before she accepted....in light of the other three tax tools nominated. Ha.... My friend Jim and I were having lunch today and we were laughing saying, "can you imagine what Obama says each time this crap comes out?" He must be saying to his wife late at night, "Good God (or maybe Alah ;) ) these people are KILLING me!!" We also learned today that every amendment that has been offered to help with the Porkapalooza spending package has been shot down without review. From amendments that say we can stimulate the economy for less than $500 billion to halting spending and money being paid back as soon as the economy shows signs of recovery to balancing the budget within 5 years of the recovery...every time, shot down with not even a blink....why you ask, because Palosi says, "we won the election, we write the entire thing and get what we've wanted for the last 40 years". She is SATAN....and is actually scarier looking.
